Funk Kombucha take a quality, ethically sourced Oolong tea from the Estate Tea Co. in Gateshead/Newcastle, brew with filtered water and cane sugar and then slow ferment for 3-4 weeks. Fermented with a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast, a SCOBY, they test the brew frequently until they achieve the right balance of acidity and sweetness.
Best enjoyed cold – this is a refreshing, carbonated, beverage that really quenches your thirst; as well as being lower in sugar than many other soft drinks. There are many associated health benefits around drinking Kombucha such as the pro-biotic effect, organic acids which help with gut-health as well as vitamins and minerals often linked with drinking tea.
Kombucha contains trace amounts of alcohol produced during fermentation – generally up to 0.5%ABV.
