Deliciously spiced, traditional potato and spinach curry.

Saag Aloo is a perfectly spiced spinach and potato dish. It can be served as a curry by itself, or more often, served as an accompaniment to meat or chicken dishes or side dish to a meat, chicken or fish curry.

Feel free to experiement by adding capsicum, extra tomato or any other vegetables.

Serves 4

  1. Par boil five medium size potatoes.
  2. In a separate pan, lightly fry the contents of the spice kit in one tablespoon of ghee (or oil) for one minute.
  3. Chop three tomatoes and add to the spices.
  4. Add approx. 400g spinach and the parboiled potatoes.
  5. Add 250ml hot water.
